This is the home of the Original Fan Eliminator Kit for the TR3, TR4 & TR4A with a grade 5 bolt! The TR6 version you see sold on eBay is not my kit and does not meet my standards for quality of material, machining and engineering. Before considering a slightly lower priced kit, compare the differences between my product and theirs.

Fan Eliminator Kit – Why Install It?
People spend thousands of dollars trying to gain horsepower yet they often overlook a quick, easy and inexpensive fix. Dollar for dollar, the biggest bang for the buck……………well, you get the idea! Triumph TR3, TR4 & TR4A all have mechanical fans which are quite heavy and rob the engine of horsepower. Replacing the engine driven 6-1/2 pounds of fan components with an 8 ounce piece of billeted aluminum gives you an instant horsepower boost. You will, of course, have to install an electric fan to keep your engine cool but you’ll find that it rarely runs, especially when you’re driving over 40 MPH.
Converting a Triumph from a mechanical cooling fan to an electrical fan is just about the perfect first upgrade. Benefits include improved cooling, horsepower savings, slight savings in fuel consumption. Some say the original crankshaft driven fan robs about six (6) horsepower! Removal of the original fan set up allows an electric fan to be mounted behind the radiator in a “puller” configuration.
Weighing the original parts from a 1975 TR6, (the cast iron fan spacer, center bolt, steel fan mount ring, and red 13 blade fan) came to 6lbs 6oz. The aluminum replacement with bolt and lock washer weigh a total of 8.35oz. Simply put, the Fan Kit reduces your original mechanical fan weight by 92%! This reduction in rotating mass allows for quicker acceleration and an instant gain in horsepower.
The fan eliminator is a replacement for the original cast iron fan spacer. Machined from a billet of aircraft aluminum (6061), it is stronger and far lighter than the original. Testing the aluminum retainer for distortion was done by actually over-torquing the retainer bolt to more than 150 ft lbs, the max rating for my torque wrench. Other than a mar from the lock washer, no damage at all was done to the retainer.
