When first starting this renovation I thought the front fenders were in pretty good shape. My plan was to just patch the small triangular blisters above each headlight. Little did I realize that behind those headlights there was serious damage. Check out what the fender looked like without a headlight bucket! The damage extended over to the front valence panel around the light. Not only was there damage around the headlights but the lowest portion was also rusted badly. Doing the job right required new fenders.

Removal of the fenders opened up a whole new ugly world of rust! A drain hose from the heater air intake pours water into the closed area behind the fender, eating everything around it.
